Life at Nexxen with Kristin Grumhaus

In our second year of Life at Nexxen, we’re kicking off the series with Senior Account Manager, Kristin Grumhaus. Kristin has been with Nexxen for nearly 4 years, originally joining our Tremor Video team. Based out of our Chicago office, Kristin manages central region accounts for Nexxen

When you joined Tremor, were you looking for a new opportunity or did somebody reach out to you with the role?

After I graduated from Miami of Ohio, my first job was at Spark, an agency in Chicago. I was working with Tremor as a media partner on one of our accounts there, so I had a general idea of what the company did and who they were. It ended up being a perfect fit after a friend of mine, who worked at Tremor at the time, referred me to the role.

Were you specifically looking to get into sales or did your colleague recommend Tremor as a great company to work for?

As part of the Client Success team, I don’t work directly in sales, but I do support salespeople. I wanted to work closely with clients and build those relationships, so I saw Tremor’s opening on the Client Success team as a great opportunity.

What is the typical workflow of supporting our clients look like?

I work on everything once the contract is signed- I’m helping with the setup and monitoring of the campaign. I’m working with the clients to gather creative, targeting, and any other nuances on their campaign setup. After the setup, we’re monitoring performance to ensure that we are hitting the client’s goals. We often have some touchpoints throughout the campaign with calls or weekly/bi-weekly reporting.

What is your favorite thing either about the role or our customers in general?

I love that our customers are loyal and continue to work with Nexxen. I’ve worked with some of my clients since I first started at the company.

Is there something you’re really looking forward to this year?

In 2025, I’ll be working with a few sellers that are new to me and my book. This gives me an opportunity to work with new clients, verticals, and sell new products.

With your long-standing relationships with our clients, what is a skill that you recommend that helps you see success in this role?

Something I’ve been working on is being able to anticipate the client’s needs. For example, if I know a client or campaign is trying to achieve high-performance goals, I’ll let them know exactly which steps we’re taking to achieve that goal and highlight anything we’re doing to get there.

What’s your favorite thing about working with your sales partners or other teams?

Building relationships and watching our team have success in selling new offerings or products. We’re supporting their business, so it’s great to see them succeeding and winning new business.

Before you get into work mode, is there any specific way you start your day? After the work day, how do you unwind?

I always start my morning with a cup of coffee. I try to get outside if I can, walking my 1-year-old Golden Retriever puppy in the morning before I sign into work. To end the day, I typically take him to the park to unwind.

What are your current hobbies?

I’m on a yoga and Pilates kick right now, and I love to read. I also got engaged in November, so the majority of my free time will be spent wedding planning.

Are there any books that you would recommend that you read recently?

I really enjoy reading thriller novels; the last one I read was Mind Games and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
